“Making a plan for your goals this year!”
Happy New Year, Bombshells! I am so unbelievably excited for 2019. We all know that New Years bring NEW resolutions. It’s a big thing for women (and men!) to make a list of WISHES for the new year. You’ve done, I’ve done it.. we have ALL done this! Maybe you stuck to your resolution (High five, sister!) but more often than not, we lose sight of WHY these “wishes” are important to us to begin with. Because lets be real for a second, we have lives that are so incredibly busy and complex. Our lives are filled with things like going to school, kids, illness, work, pregnancy, being a wife, making those cookies for the bake sale you promised, PTO meetings ect ect and SOMEHOW, we still have to find ways to feel like a normal human being and take care of ourselves. We simply put off the things that we deem as “not as important” and that right there is why we lose sight of what we want/our goals and they just become wishes.
I call these resolutions that we let fall off the map and into Narnia, “wishes” because there is a certain quote I like to reference when I’m motivating others and especially myself. “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” I mean, read that out loud a few times and let it really sink in.
If we aren’t setting goals for ourselves and planning for them, then all we are doing is wishing for things we hope will somehow just happen for us. No one else is going to care about your goals/dreams as much as you do! So when you sit down to make your list of resolutions for the new year, Let’s all agree to set a plan for how we are going to execute these goals and make them a reality in 2019! Maybe that means that you’re going to have to time block your months in advance to make time for (20) thirty minute work outs a month. Do that! Sit down and write it out, take that time for yourself and what YOU want this year.
This year my biggest goal for 2019 is to do all things with love. I want to spend time this year not just being a mom and wife but being a mom and wife with a little extra love in everything I do. I want to spend this year not just working my business but truly showing my customers and my team just how much I love our company and how appreciated they all are. 2019 is going to be a huge year for not only my business but for our family as well. We are growing by one, whole, tiny person this spring. Welcoming our fourth baby girl into our family is both exciting and a little nerve wrecking. Will I be able to juggle 3 busy girls and a newborn? Will everything fall back into place with perfect ease, like I hope? Probably not, that is why it is going to take some planning on my part and a lot of help to find our comfort zone again and that’s okay because I’m taking the time to plan ahead for this exciting/busy time coming up to allow for things to go more smoothly. That doesn’t mean there won’t be hang ups, there are always unforeseen hurdles but if you plan for your goals, the hurdles don’t seem as big when you reach them. I’m also planning for my business during that season of our lives when things are going to be a little hectic at first. I’m planning to lean on my family, friends, my husband and god to get me through a time when things might be a little overwhelming. Most of all, I’m planning to take 2019 a day at a time and embrace every new blessing or hurdle with love and grace.
So take today to think about what you want from this year. How you want to succeed, how you want the world to see you in 2019 and plan for it! It’s a new year, with new blessings around the corner. Embrace this new season for your life and plan for excellence. Plan to live your life the best possible way you know how! I cant wait to see where this year takes us.
